Dental Practice Refurbishment, First Phase Complete

dental refurbishment

Cannon Clarke Group were appointed to carry out the initial phase of a wider dental practice refurbishment in Norwich, providing new hygienist facilities on Prince of Wales Road. Our work began with developing design ideas, understanding the existing building fabric and exploring options for the new facilities. The building’s age and condition, concealed services and asbestos considerations all informed our approach.

We then prepared the detailed construction package and provided post-contract services throughout the works. Working closely with the dental equipment providers, we ensured the layout, services and equipment fitted precisely within the available space, with minimal intervention in the building.

This coordination extended to dimensions, clearances and service connections, with details resolved down to the millimetre before construction. It gave the contractor clear installation information and helped achieve a high standard of finish within the existing accommodation. Our post-contract services included reviewing progress, checking workmanship against the client-approved design and carefully assessing contractor payments.

It’s been great to work with the experienced team at NCL Contractors, whose diligence and attention to detail have carried through into the completed facilities. Their approach reflects the care we bring to our designs.

Planning the next phase

We are now looking ahead to the proposed basement refurbishment, which will introduce warmer interiors, improved lighting and updated facilities. Timber-effect hygienic wall finishes will help create a more welcoming environment, alongside refurbished toilets and improvements to the existing staircase. The basement scheme also includes measures to address moisture issues and improvements to the lightwells and windows to bring in more natural light.

Our client has been enthusiastic about the designs, and we look forward to progressing the next phase. Read more about the initial feasibility work and wider proposals in our Norwich dental refurbishment case study.
